She
could hear the voices in head slowly growing louder and louder repeating the
same lines “It is your Fault! You are the guilty one!” She brushed aside all
though those accusations and just laughed out loud. Loud enough to satisfy
herself that she didn't care. Loud enough to make her think that she wasn't the
one falling down. If I were some stranger I would have been stunned by her
impudence but I just witnessed sheer animosity in her behavior in her
expressions. All the things that she rejected in her conscious started to haunt
her in her sleep. There were nights when she would suddenly wake up breaking
herself away from the dreams. On one of such nights she called me and blurted
out her blues atleast some of it. The next morning she was back to her normal
I-Don’t-care self. She just refused to talk about anything instead told me to
forget that she ever called that night. I can’t help her but now I can decipher
her perplexing attitude. People have a need to blame someone or something so
that the horror of what they do won’t swallow them, be it the Devil or the
destiny. She just runs away from her guilt but she is still surrounded by it.
What makes it worst for her is that everyone just silently blames her and so do
I. I never confronted her nor was I angry anymore. My vibrating phone suddenly
interrupted my thoughts and jolted me back to reality. It was a reminder for me
to go back to my home. When I wanted to tell her that I don’t pity her, I just empathize with her everyone could but all that came out from my mouth was,
“I’ll meet you soon so just hang on. Bye!” She understood that I could see
right through her facade. She gave me a tired smile and I could see in gloomy
eyes that she trusts me. She wasn't hiding her agony from me but confining to
me everything would make her face them all. She was just escaping from all of
it.
They
say that you can’t escape anything for a long time you would have to face it
eventually. I just pray that it isn't true in her case but that is not going to
happen is it?
